Welcome back, grinder.
If you’ve been showing up, playing tight, and hitting a few min-cashes or final tables, you might’ve scraped together your first few bucks. And yeah, R100 might not seem like much—but in this challenge, that’s everything.
This week we focus on bankroll management, mental game, and how to start making real progress.
💵 Step 1: Stick to Freerolls Until R100
Do not jump into the R0.20c buy-in games just because you won a R20
Stick to freerolls until you have at least R100. Treat that R100 like it’s your baby’s college fund.
🧠 Step 2: Mental Game is Key
This grind is slow and brutal. Freerolls are a circus—people going all-in with 7-2 suited, folks timing out, sitters folding into the money…
You need to:
- Detach emotionally from the swings.
- Avoid tilt after bad beats (and there will be plenty).
- Remind yourself: This is a challenge of discipline, not luck.
📊 Step 3: Track ROI & Hourly Early
Even at R0, start thinking like a pro.
Keep logging:
- Tournaments entered
- Cashes
- Finish position
- Time played
Eventually you’ll be able to answer: “Am I beating these games?” If you’re not, tweak your play.
🧼 Step 4: Study Just a Little
Pick one thing to improve this week:
- Early-stage hand selection
- C-betting
- Folding to aggression
- Stack preservation
